I love English
Good morning everyone,
may I have your attention, please? I am very happy to be here. My name is .I'm .My topic is I love English.
As everyone knows,English is very important today. If we can speak English well,we will have more chance to succeed.
But for myself , I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness, but also because of my love for it.When I speak English,I can feel the confident from my words. When I write English,I can see the beauty which is not the same as our Chinese...
I love English,it gives me a colorful dream. I hope I can travel around the world one day.
I am sure that my dream will come true one day!
Thank you!
My community and state are still recovering from the catastrophe that struck recently. A wall of storms with hurricane force winds struck late on a Friday evening knocking down trees, blocking roads, damaging homes, and destroying power lines.
Hundreds of thousands of people suddenly found themselves in the dark without water, electricity, air conditioning, telephones, internet, and television. They found themselves cut off from the modern world enduring sweltering 90 degree plus heat with no help and no idea when it would be over.
The most amazing thing happened, however, as the reality of the crisis sank in: it brought out the best in us. While there were a few acts of selfishness and stealing they were overwhelmed by the wave of love and compassion that came from the hearts of so many.
People shared their food, ice, and gasoline. People who still had power opened their homes to those who had none. People rushed out to clear roads and homes of fallen trees. Selfless power crews worked around the clock to repair the damage and restore electricity.
People gathered on front porches to talk, share hugs and offer words of hope and faith that God would see them through it all. Strangers came together as one family to help each other in this time of great need.
It was such a joy seeing all these people acting like true Children of God under the most trying of circumstances.
Life's disasters strike all of us from time to time. No one is spared.
We all get hurt. We all get challenged.
We all get squeezed by difficulties during our days here.
How we respond to them, though, is up to us.
We can let them bring out the worst is us or we can let them bring out the best in us. We can react to them like demons of selfishness or like angels of love.
May you always bring the best from your heart and soul to whatever life may throw at you then. May you live all of your days here with so much love that Heaven sings and God smiles.
ulie was saying her bedtime prayers. "please god," she said, "make naples the capital of italy. make naples the capital of italy."
her mother interrupted and said. "julie, why do you want god to make naples the capital of italy?"
and julie replied, "because that's what i put in my geography exam!"
you will live every single day of your life with absolute passion, and youwill show your passion through the words you speak and the actions you take.
you will focus all your time and effort on the most important goals of yourlife. you will never succumb to challenges of hardships.
you will never waver in your pursuit of excellence. after all,you are thebest, and you deserve the best!
as your coach and friend, i can assure you the door to all the best thingsin the world will open to you, but the key to that door is in your hand. youmust do your part, you must faithfully follow the plans you make and take theactions you plan, you must never quit, you must never fear. i know you must doit, you can do it, you will do it, and you will succeed!
now stand firm and tall, make a fist, get excited, and yell it out:
i must do it! i can do it! i will do it! i will succeed!

宋:Excuse me ,Ms.Wu.
武:OK. What do you have for us ,Ms,Song.?
宋:I think that Mr.Chen’s report is crucial to broadening your market ,so we should hear what Mr.Chen has to say now.
周:I agree with you there. Are you ready , Mr.Chen?
廖:I think your sales department needs to be more aggressive. On account of superior quality and competitive price, you used to be the market leader. However, there’s little new business coming in now.
This is due to the world wide depression. The general trend of trade has been low during this period. As a result, orders from abroad have diminished and lots of goods have lain idle in warehouses.
I’m afriad I can’t agree with you .As far as I know ,the sales income of MK Company has increased every month for the last year .I think the most important factors is that other competitive manufacturers have become more active now. They are having a striking effect on comsumers.
To be frank, we haven’t got enough research yet. We should see all this a bit further. Ms.Wu. May we have your comment?
武:We may have a negotiation with the cients and show them our sample.
宋:That sounds good. It seems to be the first solution to the problem.
廖:Can I come in here? (我可以说两句吗?)In my opinion,it is necessary to have an immediate research.
周:Let us end here. We are running a bit short on time. Let’s break off for a cup of tea.
SB: it seems that they have done a fierce discussion. A commercial discussion may be more complicated than that.now, let’s see what will happen in a restaurant.
4. Enjoy Chinese Food in a Restaurant
周:This is your seat Ms.Song and Mr.Chen. Take your seat please.
Thank you,Ms Zhou,and Ms.Wu.
廖:I’m really a bit nervous now.I konw nothing about your table manners. It would be in bad taste for a guest to make blunders.
宋:Yeah.We have the same feeling.
武:Don;t worry,Ms.Song and Mr.Chen.As for table manners ,there is only one rule you must observe. That is to make yourselves at home.
宋:No wonder people say the Chinese are hospitable. Now ,I have seen it with my own eyes.
周:Ms.Song and Mr.Chen,Which do you prefer,Brandly,Maotai or wine?
宋:Brandly and Maotai are too strong for me .Just a glass of dry wed wine.Ok ?Mr.Chen.
廖:It’s up to you.
武:But Juigui spirits doesn’t go to the head.Would you like to try it?
宋:Well,I wil try a little.
廖:Yes.
周:Would you like to use chopsticks or knife and fork?
廖:I think I will try chopsticks and see if I can manange.
宋:I also want to have try to use chopsticks.
武:Let me show you.Look, at first place both sticks between the thumb and the fore finger. Then , keep one still and move the other, so as to make them work like pincers.
Let me try ..... Well, how is that?
武:Fine, you are learning fast.
Well,to your health and success in business.Cheers.
And to yours. Cheers.
SB: That’s all.thank you.
olympics of mankind,
celebration of green nature
good morning, everybody!
let's start with the very simple question: do you know the tree coverage rate of beijing? well, the recent numerical value is 49。9%。 it sounds much, but is there simply one tree that was planted by you? if there is, let's say you're really great。 but if not believe me you are not alone cuz it's rather difficult for us students to get involved in such activities。 well, i think now we all realize that all that we've done for the green is just about claiming or declaring, painting or advertising。 however what i'm fully convinced is that someday ten years ago you must have stepped onto the grassland in the early spring and i'm sure that some of you (especially girls) must have unwittingly picked up dandelions by the roadside and gently blew their parachute like seeds into the fragrant breeze。 by the time our lives can be counted by decades, what have we done for our mother nature?
before you get lost in speculation, please follow me and try considering some other questions: put up your hands if you have watched the olympic games? (of course you have or else you wouldn't be sitting here) nonetheless how many of you had the experience of sitting in front of the television waiting for the games of the unable people? i think now we can draw the conclusion that we concern the olympic games mostly for entertainment。
have you found out that the linkage between the olympic games and the green environment is that we almost do nothing really helpful to either of them! what now i want to tell you is very realistic i wrote them from the core of my heart so please believe me they are my true feelings。
last summer when i had just finished the high school entrance examination, i came up with the idea of not using air conditioners in that coming summer。 then i had an extraordinarily hard time controlling myself and had suffered from having more than one air conditioners in sight yet cannot make use of them。 every time i caught sight of them i told myself that i was doing something quite valuable。 finally autumn came and to my surprise i had made it! you know how excited i was? i really felt very proud of myself。 sounds ridiculous right? however, will all of you here join me to do this next year, will you? i hope so。 because i feel deeply upset every time when i see my parents waste a lot of water and i don't know why i'm extremely concerned about the protection of environment and the reservation of natural resources since i was young。 my mother was against me on whether to mention her in my speech nevertheless i consider it very common among you and maybe your parents。 in the past i didn't dare to ask others to turn off the faucet while not using them because i was afraid of being described as stingy, am i? stinginess is to resources what responsibility is to the society。 it's about time we aroused the social awareness of environment protection。 doesn't the realization of our green dream and olympic dream both start from that?
because all the beautiful words seem to be so pale and feeble compared with practical actions and i don't like to say sentences like "start right from myself" so let's change it to a more romantic one: the mission of turning the green within our heart and soul into the luxuriantly green scenery out of the window is bound to cross the boundaries between nations, continents and racial groups, from olympia to the great wall and finally fall on our shoulders by the year 2008。
my favorite description of the olympic games is the celebration of mankind。 but now i want to propose a small change, which is to be: olympics of mankind, celebration of green nature。
My Chinese Dream
——From “Made in China” to “Designed by China”
Dream, with each one of us.
Dream is beautiful, it is the bottom of my heart the most beautiful expectations, so the dream also become our long-held beliefs. And my dream is to let my country become strong.
The various kinds of products in delicate Chinese stores, inns and shops inevitably have the sign of “Made in China”。 Even if some people do not speak English, after viewing plenty of those goods, are capable of identifying this high-frequency phrase.
When Mr. Xu mentioned “Made in China” during social science class when explaining concepts, he solely referred to this phrase and wished it could become “Designed by China” in the future in a regretful voice. However, when I heard his words, my heart thumped. It is indeed true that at present, most of the miscellaneous goods are made in China instead of designed by China. For instance, some of my pens have the label of “Designed by Korea Made in China” . 在我的一些笔上写着:“Design by Korea Made in China.
I still remember the indignation from my heart last time when I saw the news that a number of multinational companies made use of the low standard of “Made in China” to produce illegitimate products. From that on, I have a dream. I have a dream that one day those pitiable “Made in China” labels can transfer into “Designed by China” or even “China patent technology”。 Though I am neither a professional engineer, nor a sophisticated designer, I am only a student who has no specialized knowledge about invention. Nevertheless, I always have the dream that there will be less “Made in China” and more “Designed by China”。
Without actions, determinate can only be remote dreams generated from my mind. I said to myself silently, only when I take actions can the dreams become closer to facts. For instance, I should be more focused when having science class, should take some inventive extracurricular activities, should know more about lifetime stories of renowned inventors should be an active observer, should suggest others to act. Through these ways, the dreams are more likely to become less remote and the pitiful “Made in China” are more likely to diminish.
Unconsciously, I think of the abstract word “patriotism”。 Some “patriots” resist the consumption of Japanese products. Some “patriots” damage Japan manufactured cars. Some “patriots” make humiliating GIFs about Japan. Some “patriots” attack countries that do not admit the China’s sovereignty of Diaoyu Island. The examples are endless. At their points of view, these are demonstrations of patriotism. Nonetheless, these actions may be too impulsive. Probably, it is a better way that we can earn respect from foreign nations via making China a more powerful country in terms of economics politics.
I do not know. But in my heart, I have a firm belief that other countries can respect China genuinely from the change of “Made in China” to “Designed by China”。
Finally,I want to say: We are the hope of our motherland, we should inherit the tradition of excellence, strive to advanced country contributes own strength. Here, I have a kind of inarticulate touched and proud.I for the construction of the Chinese people feel proud, proud of themselves as part of this great country!
1. abc corporation. may i help you?
一般接起电话的人通常会先报公司的名字"abc corporation",然后再说, "may i help you?"或是如果要更客气一点的话则可以说"how can i help you?" 但基本上"may i help you?"跟"how can i help you?"
不过如果是机器接的电话,则听到的多半是这样, "thanks for calling abc corporation, if you know your party's last name or extention, press 1. if you want to recieve information or publication, press 2. if you want to talk to the operator, press pound sign or remain on the line."
2. and you are?
你是?
如果人家打电话来是要找你的上司, "may i talk to your manager?" 最客气的问法是, "whom i am speaking with?"或是"whom am i talking to?"
像是"and you are?" 而且事实上"and you are?" 来访的客人如果说, "i'm looking for mr. wolf."
3. i'll put her on the phone. just a second.
put someone on the phone这个片语就是说请某人听电话. 什么时候要结婚啦,这时如果你实在不想跟她讲了,就可以说, "could you please just put her on the phone?" 反过来如果今天是你接到了电话,结果要找的是别人,你就可以说, "ok. i'll put her on the phone. just a second."
例如同样的情况你可以说,"i'm transferring your call."或是"i'm redirecting your call." 或是, "ok. i'll put you through."
4. would you mind holding for one minute?
在美国如果有机会打电话给客户服务(customer service)部门,如果没意外的话都会听到以下的电话录音, "all of our representitives are currently busy serving their customers. your call will be answered in approximate 5 minutes" (我们所有的客服人员都在忙着服务他们的顾客,请等五分钟后,就会有人接听你的电话),然后十分钟过去了, "please continue to hold, your call is very important to us." 如果万不得已一定要请他稍候,我们要客气一点地说,"would you mind holding for one minute?" 但是如果一分钟到了你还没忙完,则最好再说一次,"sorry, i am still on the phone. could you hold for another minute?"
5. he's out for lunch. would you like to try again an hour later?
其实这个went是多余的,通常老美只讲be out for something就行了。如果要再简化一点,单说, "he is on lunch."或是"he is on (lunch) break."
例如你可以建议别人,"why don't you call back in 30 minutes?" 第二种选择就是请对方留言,客气一点的讲法是,"may i take your message?"或是"would you like to leave a message?"

Good morning/afternoon, teachers!
I’m happy to be here. Firstly, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is xxx , my English name is xxxxx . I like to go to school. I think it’s interesting and fun. I have many hobbies in school, Ilike reading books, playing balls, drawing , painting and so on. Now, I am a football player of my school team. Look at this picture, this girl in red is me , What a proud thing!
Today, my topic is about “a sport star”. Iwant to talk about is a famous woman football player in our Country.
A girl who loves football, at the age of 12, began to play. She failed to be admitted by the football team for many years , but thecoach always encourages her: "you must be succeed next time." Later, she came into the football team. After many years, she became the captain of the Chinese women’s football is Sun wen.(展示孙雯照片)
Sunwenand her women's football team, have seen relative success ——they reached the World Cup final in 1999. The national women's team, has been knownasthe "Iron Roses"by the world.
During her training process, she suffered two serious injury, one is almost blind in the right eye; theotheris the left knee joint damage, in addition, her body hasgotdifferent degree of injury. But thosedidn’t stop her from playing , because she said: "I chose this road, I love football too much, this is my favorite cause."
She also said, “who want to make some achievementsor success ,must pay the extra effort, the reason isalsothe sameto any other area. ”
Sun Wenhas been playedfootball for 14 years, she thinks the most important thing is football, it gave hera out of the ordinary life experience, it makes hergenerous, self challenge. She also told us that, only when their team is strong , will it be respectedby audience; only when our country is strong, the motherland will be win the world'srespect.
In 20xx, International Federation of Association Footballgive The title “The Best Woman Football Player of the Millenium” to Sun Wen. At this moment, all China is encouraged.
Though she is retired now, her struggles and spirit are still moving. It will always affect the fans of football, including me. She left an unforgettable wealth for the women's will be respected for her super performance in the sport always.
Sports, including football, make us grow in the wind and rain, make us stronger and more beautiful. Come on, friends, don't wait! Come on, let’s go for dreams!
That’s my share , thank you!
